India to sign MoU with Iceland on fisheries development
New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the signing of an MoU on sustainable fisheries development between India and Iceland.
The MoU will remain in force for five years, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
Both sides will cooperate in sustainable fisheries development through optimum exploitation of coastal and deep sea fishery resources, and their marketing.
Due care is to be taken to protect the environment and conserve the fisheries resources in the exlusive economic zone of India.
The MoU and any related document may be amended by mutual written agreement of the two parties.
