Goa should set trend in dethroning incompetent Cong govts:Naidu

Panaji, Feb 1 (UNI) Former BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu today said Goa should set a trend in showing the door to the ''corrupt, undemocratic, incompetent, inherently contradictory and in-fighting Congress governments'' in the country in the coming assembly elections in May.

''The island state should also teach its governor S C Jamir a fitting lesson whose dubious role was responsible for installing the Congress government headed by Pratapsingh Rane through undemocratic means,'' he asserted, while addressing a massive public meeting at Mapusa town, 20 km from the capital.

''Give a clear cut and decisive majority to the BJP in the May polls in Goa where our party workers are poised to launch a door-to- door campaign soon to expose the misdeeds and failures of the Rane government,'' Mr Naidu appealed.

The senior BJP leader was also critical of the ''retrograde and minorities-pampering policies of the Centre under the proxy rule of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, seated at the driver's seat.'' Mr Naidu was flanked by state BJP president Shripad Naik and former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who had earlier lashed at the ''corrupt, undemocratic and non-performing'' government headed by Rane, which is only marked with stalling of development and failure of law and order.'' Dubbing the UPA government at the Centre as ''Ulta- Phulta (topsy-turvy) Alliance'' with Sonia Gandhi as the ''super PM'' and CPM as ''ultra-PM'' with many other drivers in the government, Naidu censured the government for it's failure to check mounting prices particularly of essential commodities.
