Deputy EC reviews poll preparation in Jalandhar Division

Amritsar, Feb 1 (UNI) Deputy Election Commissioner R Battacharya reviewed election preparations with Returning officers, observers and other poll-related officers of seven districts falling in Jalandhar Division at a meeting here today.

He directed them to ensure strict enforcement of model code of conduct and take action against those who violated the code.

He also directed them to make available one extra electronic voting machine at each booth for smooth conduct of polling.

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer S Krishna and Dr Swaran Singh, Commissioner Jalandhar Division, also attended the meeting.
