Book lovers to taste the flavour of Aussie books

Kolkata, 01 Feb (UNI) The book lovers in the city can now get a flavour of Australian literature as renowned authors of the country will display their works here from tomorrow.

The Australian High Commission, that had organised a 10 day display of books called 'Australian Books and Writers', would feature the rich Australian literary traditions.

The program was earlier scheduled to be launched at the Kolkata Book Fair.

The AHC commissioner Mr McCarthy said this programme would provide a great oppurtuinity for the authors to experience the literary traditions of India, especially Bengal, which would strenghten the literary connections between the two nations.

Eminent authors like Tom Keneally, a Booker-prize winner for novel Schindler's Ark, were going to participate in this exhibition.

The display would be organised under the auspices of ''AusArts India: Films, arts, literature,'' a two-year cultural promotion program presented by the Australian government.
