New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The BJP today demanded full protection to the media in Asom, holding the alleged Congress league with ULFA in the last election, responsible for an increase in ULFA killings of Hindi-speaking people in the state.

Party spokesman Prakash Javadekar described as a "very serious matter of grave importance" the threat issued by ULFA to two editors and one news channel. "This shows that despite the government warnings, the ULFA is de facto running its show in the valley. The political adjustments of Congress with ULFA on election eve have emboldened the outfit," he said.

The BJP wants the Home Minister to go there and assure the people of the state, particularly non-Asomese people, of full security and ensure full freedom of press in the state, Mr Javadekar said.
