Asha Bhonsle, Nana Patekar to inaugurate 'Sangeet Mahotsav' in Goa

Panaji, Feb 1 (UNI) Noted singer Asha Bhonsle and well-known Bollywood actor Nana Patekar will inaugurate the two-day Natya and Bhakti Sangeet Mahotsav at Siolim in North Goa on February 17.

The musical festival ''Swar-Abhishekhi'' is organised by Tarangini Sanskritik Prastishthan and will be held at Shree Shivolkarin Devasthan.

Speaking to reporters here today, Tarangani Sanskritik Prathaishan chief convenor Shounak Abhisheki said the Mahotsav will be hosted by Dattram Pundalik Palyelkar Trust, Siolim. On the occasion, 12 internationally acclaimed artistes will perform for two days.

He said Bhonsle and Patekar will inaugurate the the Mahotsav. On the occasion, Meenatai Khadikar and Pandit Prasad Sawkar will be felicitated at the hands of Goa chief minister Pratapsinh Rane.

Next day, other musicians like Pt Prabhakar Karekar, Pt Ramdas Kamat and 30 local artistes who had performed well in the Natya and Bhakti Sangeet would be felicitated.

Among the 12 internationally-acclaimed artistes performing at the music festival include Pt Prabhkar Karekar, Hemant Pendese, Pt Raja Kale, Sumedha Dessai, Neelakshi Pendharkar, Suresh Bapat, Pt Ramdas Kamat, Manjusha Kulkarni Patil, Meghan Shrikhande, Raghunandan Pannshikar, Pt Upendra Bhat and Shunak Abhisheki.
