Tenth National E-governance Conference in MP

Bhopal, Jan 31 (UNI) An exhibition showcasing latest techniques of information technology, besides e-governance work from various states, will be put up by companies participating in the two-day Tenth National E-governance Conference getting underway here on February 2.

''The event is under the auspices of the Union IT Ministry, Madhya Pradesh IT and Public Grievances Redressal departments.

Discussion will take place on subjects such as change in government processes, purchase of hardware and software and setting up of computer kiosks in rural areas,'' IT and Power Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya told reporters here today.

Pointing out that more than 550 participants have confirmed participation, he added that they included different states' principal secretaries, IT advisors and representatives of several IT firms.

''Various IT companies' inclination to operate in this state has increased. Proposals for IT parks, here and in Jabalpur, have been dispatched to the Centre. An IT park already exists at Indore and many companies have sent in proposals. E-governance in the transport department netted additional revenue of Rs 100 crore. Corruption and public complaints have simultaneously declined,'' the minister added.
