Tata Steel outbids CSN in Corus takeover battle

LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) India's Tata Steel outbid Brazil's CSN in an auction for Anglo-Dutch steelmaker Corus Group , Britain's Takeover Panel said on Wednesday.

The Takeover Panel said in an emailed statement Tata Steel had agreed to offer Corus investors 608 pence per share in cash, or 5.75 billion pounds (.3 billion).

Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) agreed to offer 603 pence per share for Corus, the panel said.
