Tata Steel makes us proud by acquiring Corus: Koda

Jamshedpur, Jan 31 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said Tata Steel has made the country proud after emerging as the world's fifth steel major.

Tata Steel has acquired the 6.2 billion pounds Anglo-Dutch steel company, Corus, today at London.

Inaugurating the second super soccer match between Brazil's Sao Paulo and Kolkata's Mohammedan Sporting here, Mr Koda said Tata Steel had expanded its business to overseas after defeating the Brazilain company CSN.

Mr Koda, who visited the Tata Steel today along with top officials of the company, said the government would provide every support to set up a 12 MT greenfield project at Tontaposi in Jharkhand.
