Spices Board to set up quality evaluation Lab in AP

Kochi, Jan 31 (UNI) The Spices Board will establish a quality evaluation Laboratory of international standards at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

An official release said here today, the Lab would be to gauge the quality requirements of chillies in Andhra Pradesh, which contributes to over 60 per cent of the country's total population.

The Lab will be equipped with modern scientific gadgets and manned by qualified scientists to take care of the quality parameters for export of chillies to different international markets.

The foundation stone for the land will be laid by Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh on February three. The Minister would also inaugurate a chilli poly house drier near Guntur, the release added.
