Situation normal in Indore: Vijaywargiya

Bhopal, Jan 31 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Information Technology Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya today said proper handling of the situation by the administration thwarted the designs of anti-social elements to disrupt communal harmony in Indore.

Prohibitory orders were imposed in Indore last night following clash between members of the two communities over immersion of 'Tazias' at Karbala Ground in the city on the occasion of Muharram.

''Situation is under control in Indore but additional police force has been deployed as a precautionary measure,'' Mr Vijaywargiya told reporters here today.

Expressing concern over increasing communal violence in the state, he said anti-social elements were attempting to vitiate the environment.

The Minister said administrative officials had been directed to deal with them strictly.
