RR troops prevent major tragedy in Central Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 31 (UNI) A major tragedy was averted, when Rashtriya Rifles troops detected and defused two live grenades in the Central Kashmir's Badgam district today, police spokesman said.

Two Rashitriya Rifles (RR) jawans, during a routine patrolling, noticed live hand grenades on the roadside. The entire area was immediately cordoned off and people shifted to a safer place, the spokesman said.

Later, bomb disposal squad defused both the grenades.

Some arms and ammunition were also recovered from the nearby area.

However, no arrests have been made so far.
