Punjab Governor honours 62 NCC cadets
Chandigarh, Jan 31 (UNI) Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator General (retd) S F Rodrigues today honoured 62 cadets and the staff of Punjab and Chandigarh NCC, who participated in Republic Day Parade in New Delhi this year. Panjab University Vice Chancellor Dr R C Sobti and Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh NCC Directorate Deputy Director General Brig DC Katoch along with the Group Commanders of NCC and the officers and staff of the education departments of Punjab and Chandigarh attended the function held in Panjab University.
Addressing the cadets, the Governor highlighted the importance of NCC and asked them to come forward and lead the nation, as they are the future of the country. Success, he added, can only be achieved by hard work and dedication and setting ones own goals and achieving them at the highest level.
The Governor also awarded prizes to cadets, Gagandeep Kaur and Jagjit Singh who brought laurels to the Directorate by wining medals in the GVMC Mavalankaor Shooting Championship and later participated in National Shooting Championship held at Indore.
On the occasion, Brig Katoch read out the annual report of NCC of Punjab and highlighted the achievements of the Directorate during the current year.
