PM, Sonia to campaign for Congress in Punjab

Jalandhar, Jan 31 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Ms Sonia Gandhi will visit Punjab separately to campaign for ruling Congress contestants for the February 13 assembly elections.

While Prime Minister Dr Singh will undertake a two-day election tour in the state on February 5 and 6, Congress supremo Ms Gandhi will campaign for the party nominees on February 8 and 10, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh told reporters here.

As per tentative programme, Prime Minister Dr Singh is scheduled to tour Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalanhdar and Patiala during his two-day visit, Capt Singh said.

Likewise, Congress chief will address election rallies for the party at various places, including Phagwara and Jandiala during her two phased campaign trail on February 8 and 10, he added.
