NUJ condemns ULFA's threat to NE TV

New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) National Union of Journalists has expressed concern at threats being given by ULFA to a television channel operating in the North East.

This was an attempt to muzzle the press at the point of the gun. This was totally unacceptable, a statement said here today.

According to reports, ULFA had threatened NE TV network of dire consequences if it did not withdraw a certain report telecast by it and apologise for it. ULFA reportedly also told the channel to move out of Asom.

Condemning the ''act of terrorising the media'', NUJ said this must be stopped forthwith.
