NTPC Q 3 PAT up 8.05 pc

New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) State-owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd today posted a 18.05 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 2103.3 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 1781.7 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

For nine the months ended December, 2006, the net profit stood at Rs 5,130 crore as against Rs 4,253.9 crore in the orresponding period last year, registering a growth of 20.06 per cent.

The company's net sales have grown by 17.31 per cent to Rs 22,114.2 crore for the nine months ended December, 2006 as compared to Rs 188,51.5 crore in the corresponding period last year.

In the third quarter ended December, 2006, the net sales were recorded at Rs 81,46.8 crore from Rs 68,68.9 crore during the same quarter previous year, with a growth of 18.6 per cent.
