Nikkei flat as Kyocera gains, Sony falls

TOKYO, Jan 31 (Reuters) The Nikkei share average was little changed on Wednesday, as gains by Kyocera Corp. and some other technology firms were counterbalanced by a decline in shares of Sony Corp.

The Nikkei was down 0.01 percent at 17,487.84 as of 0005 GMT, having inched higher at the start of trade.

The broad TOPIX index was down 0.04 percent at 1,730.91.
