My films are for a universal audience: Madhur
New Delhi, Jan 31: He could well be termed as one of the pioneers of the Bollywood 'New Age Cinema' in the new millennium with his films like 'Chandni Bar', 'Satta', 'Page 3' and 'Corporate' reflecting a 'slice of life' and, at the same time, incorporating elements of commercial cinema.
His critics may dismiss him as a filmmaker for the classes but two-time National Award winner Madhur Bhandarkar insists that his films are meant for all kinds of audiences be it the masses or the classes.
''While it is true that all my films, from 'Chandni Bar' to 'Satta' to 'Page 3' to 'Corporate' have been drawn from real life, I have, at the same time, taken care to add a lot of fiction to the storylines in a bid to add a commercial touch to the real life stories.
