Industry and Trade Fair begins in Tripura

Agartala, Jan 31: The 18th Industry and Trade Fair began here yesterday with a call to make Tripura the Gateway of South East Asia connecting Chittagong port in Bangladesh with Sabroom in this North Eastern hilly state.

Inaugurating the eight-day long fair here, state Chief Minister Manik Sarkar appealed to the Industrialists and planners in home and abroad to make all out effort to connect Chittagong port with Tripura's Sabroom by Rail link.

The distance from Sabroom to Chittagong port is 75km.

Once the communication was established between Chittagong and Tripura then the entire Northeast would be benefitted largely.

Trader and industrialists from Bangladesh, West Bengal, Asom, Delhi besides hosts Tripura participated in the fair.

A delegation from Dhaka Chamber of Commerce led by its president Md. Hussen Khaled also attended the fair.
