HT's biz daily 'Mint'launched
New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) Hindustan Times Media Ltd has launched its business daily 'Mint' which will hit the market with two editions Delhi and Mumbai initially, with a circulation base of more than 75,000.
''Mint is a product of a unique collaboration between HT Media and the Wall Street Journal, which will bring life to the world of business and participate in the business of life,'' HT Media Vice Chairman told reporters here late last night.
The newspaper's online edition, www.livemint.com, will also go live on February 1.
''With the effort of more than 150 people behind this paper, we are committed to clarity of news,'' Mint Managing Editor Raju Narisetti said.
Mr Narisetti added that the paper would not only include the most vital news, but also analysis, commentary and opinion to fulfil the readers expectations.
Mint will have the Wall Street edge with access to all its content globally, he said, adding that the news items would be picked to from the Indian readers' point of view.
Mint will be available from Monday to Saturday with a weekly supplement on every Monday called CAMPAINs which is about marketing strategy and management.
Every weekday, Mint will come out with four pages of international news and analysis from 1,900 global journalists at the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones &Co.
While, on Saturday, LOUNGE, the magazine-style weekend edition of of mint will be a standalone offering.
As far as the format is concerned, it will be a compact-berliner which will have navigation tool on the second page, by which readers can read according to their own choices and needs.
The designer of the paper, Mr Garcia, who has designed over 500 newspapers worldwide, said there are three sizes of the paper-- broadsheet. Berliner and Tabloid-- out of which Berliner is the most convenient and widely used.
''We are not launching a business newspaper, but putting up a business brand,'' Mint Publisher Raian Bhalla said.
HT media operates 15 printing facilities across the country with an installed capacity of 1.5 million copies per hour.
Presently, HT media has a combined daily circulation of 2.25 million copies and a readership base of 13.23 million readers.
