New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today stressed the need for adoption of Yoga, Yajna and Meditation in this materialistic world as the elements of tension and jealousy were growing in society.

Speaking at a function organised at Shri Jairam Brahamcharya Ashram here, Mr Hooda said, ''Service to humanity is part of our culture and it is the duty of all of us to maintain this tradition.'' He said it was because of the founder of Shri Jairam Institutions, the revered Brahamleen Shri Devender Swaroop Brahamachari that these institutions had made rapid progress.

Today, these institutions were playing a significant role in the areas of education, technical education and health, Mr Hooda said and added that like such institutions at Haridwar, Rishikesh and Kurukshetra, the ashram at Delhi had also emerged as a prominent centre among the people.

The Chief Minister further said that it was because of the efforts of Brahamchari that the Gita Jayanti festival was being celebrated every year at Kurukshetra and it had attained the status of a national festival.

On the occasion, Mr Hooda announced to get one room constructed at Shri Jairam Brahamcharaya Ashram in New Delhi.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit and Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana and Brahamchari also spoke on the occasion.

Mr Hooda was presented with a memento by the trustee of the Ashram Ram Lal Goyal. UNI
