Curfew continues in MP town
Rajgarh, MP, Jan 31 (UNI) Indefinite curfew was clamped today in this ''sensitive'' district's Bioara town after arson and damage to property during a clash between two communities over tearing of posters regarding a certain community's programme.
The situation was completely under control by evening, the police claimed. A couple of two-wheelers were torched and about half-a-dozen shops targeted. District Collector G P Tiwari and Superintendent of Police Solomon Y Minj reached the spot. Police used force, including lobbing of teargas shells. Prohibitory orders failed to bring the situation under control and curfew was clamped at 1530 hrs.
''I cannot supply any details right now about arrests,'' Mr Minj told UNI over the telephone.
An additional police force has been stationed at Bioara.
