Ranchi, Jan 31 (UNI) Anticipating a poll alliance between the BJP and the BSP in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat today said her party will field its candidates in 15 seats only to stop unwanted division of secular votes.

'' We will give our support to secular candidates in the rest of the seats in UP, '' Ms Karat said at a press conference here.

She expressed concern over the trend in which the secular votes got divided due to lack of unanimity among like-minded parties.

Coming down heavily on the BJP, Ms Karat alleged that the party without any constructive issue was now busy trying to consolidate its vote bank on communal lines.

'' This time we will be careful enough to halt the move, '' she said and did not spare the BSP either as it was seen as ''hobnobbing'' with the communal saffron brigade.
