Hyderabad, Jan 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed happiness over the High Court clearing the decks for formation of Greater Hyderabad.

''I am very happy'', he told reporters reacting to the ruling of a Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Mr Justice G S Singhvi and Mr Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy, dismissing two public interest writ petitions challenging the government's decision to constitute greater Hyderabad by merging several municipalities and grampanchayats which are in the periphery of the twin cities.

Elated over the ruling, Municipal Administration Minister K Ranga Rao said the process of formation of Greater Hyderabad would be set in motion with the High Court turning down all objections raised by the petitioners.

Replying to a question, he said first the civic bodies concerned had to adopt resolutions for the merger and it was for the State Election Commission to fix the date for holding elections to the new entity.
