CESC registers Rs 61 crore net profit in Q3
Kolkata, Jan 31: CESC, Kolkata based power supply company, has registered a 65 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 61 crore compared to Rs 37 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
A company release here today said around 8 per cent growth in sales, two per cent increase in Plant Load Factor(PLF), reduction in interset cost and higher revenue from exports have led to good performance in this quarter.
It also said the company board has decided in-principle to form a subsidiary company to deal with real estate.
The finacial closure for Budge Budge Unit 3(250 MW) achieved during the quarter and BHEL has been awarded the main EPC contract.
The unit would start commercial operation in September 2008-09, it said.
