Apang calls on PM
New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here today and discussed a wide range of issues concerning the State.
According to informed sources, the Chief Minister requested Dr Singh to keep Arunachal Pradesh out of the purview of the Delimitation commission in view of the State's geographical nature and its stategic location along the China border in the North Eastern part of the country.
He has also requested the PM for higher Central aid and incentives for attracting investments in the State.
Mr Apang has also stressed the need for speedy developemnt of better road network communication more specially for the Tawang district of State which is under persistant threat of possible intrusion by Cinese forces.
It is reliably learnt that the State CM has also raised the issue of national as well as State's security in view of the growing influence of the under ground militants outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and requested the PM to streangthen security network in that region,the sources added.
