AP CM asks departments to implement welfare measures
Hyderabad, Jan 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the departments concerned to implement all the welfare measures envisaged in the Prime Minister's 15-point programme in time.
The Chief Minisater while reviewing the progress of implementation of the Prime Minister's 15-point programmes said the programmes should be done as per schedule focusing on Dr Manmohan Singh's special initiative for the welfare of the minorities.
Dr Reddy wanted the departments concerned to ensure adequate seats for minorities in proportion to various minority groups in the district in all the educational institutions, including the residentials schools, ITI, Residential ITIs, Social Welfare , BC Welfare and Tribal Welfare Departments in non-scheduled areas.
The Prime Minister's 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities, included enhancing opportunities for education, equitable share in economic activities and employment, improving the living conditions of minorities and prevention and control of communal riots.
The Chief Minister said most of these programmes had already being implemented in the State. Dr Reddy instructed the finance department to ensure that enough funds were provided for the introduction of computers in Madrasas and their inclusion in the ensuing state budget, too.
The Government would implement all the schemes included in the PM's progrmmes in right earnest, he added.
