Allcargo Global Logistics posts 6-fold growth in current fiscal

Mumbai, Jan 31 (UNI) Allcargo Global Logistics Ltd, a logistics service provider involved in Multimodal Transport Operations (MTO), owing and operating Containers Freight Station (CFS) and handling of project cargo, for the nine month period ending December 31, posted a six-fold growth in total income (from Rs 203.29 crore to Rs 1,232.06 crore) while profit after tax grew by 92.2 per cent (from Rs 37.08 crore to Rs 71.28 crore.

Company Chairman and Managing Director Shashi Kiran Shetty in a release here today described his company as being arguably the only 'Indian Multinational' in the logistics business.

In a scenario where Indian companies were going global, Mr Shetty said, his company was the first one in India to acquire a global company in the logistics space, Belgium-based ECU Hold NV, as also one of the very few logistics companies in India to go public.

A global reach and focus on technological improvements was the major USP of the company, he said. The company has invested in expanding its infrastructure to provide cost-effective, end-to-end logistics solutions. The company has an ERP system which provides support at all stages of the business, with the ability of online track and trace, he added.
