AICC Member M L Ustad is dead

Bangalore, Jan 31 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader and AICC member M L Ustad died following a cardiac arrest at his residence here today.

He was 58. He is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.

Mr Ustad, elected three times to Karnataka Assembly from Bijapur city constituency, had served as Minister for Mines and Geology in S Bangarappa ministry and and later as Minister for Minority Welfare and Wakf under S M Krishna.

Opposition leader in the Karnataka assembly Mr Dharam Singh, KPCC President Mallikarjuna Kharge have condoled the death of Mr Ustad.

The last rites of the deceased will be held at Bijapur, tomorrow, the family sources said.
