34th All-India Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Gold Cup Hockey

Guna, MP, Jan 31 (UNI) Guna Municipal Council vanquished their Damoh counterparts 6-1 today in the inaugural encounter of the 34th All-India Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Gold Cup Hockey Championship at the Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here.

In another match, the Town Hall Club, Shahjahanpur, humbled the Guna District Hockey Association 5-1.

Earlier, the event was inaugurated by District and Sessions Judge Susheel Kumar in the presence of Superintendent of Police Yogesh Chaudhry. The organisers said that the more than 20 participating teams included the Corps of Signals, Jalandhar; Indian Air Force, Delhi; Central Reserve Police Force, Delhi; Jammu Police; Railway Board, Delhi; Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Delhi and the Sports Authority of India, Bhopal.
