Youth kills one policeman, wounds 4

Faizabad, Jan 30 (UNI) A police personnel was killed and four others were grievously wounded after they were shot at by a youth here in Delhi Darwaja area this morning.

Police said the incident occurred under Kotwali police station area, where Puneet Sharma fought with his neighbours over a dispute.

Soon the dispute snowballed into a full-fledged clash and the rival groups beat each other black and blue. When the police intercepted Puneet, he opened fire.

Constable Santraj died on the spot. The wounded, including a sub-inspector, were taken to hospital, later they were rushed to Lucknow in serious condition.

Owing to Moharram, a large number of security personnel have been deployed to avoid any violence.

Meanwhile, three persons, including Puneet, have been taken into custody.
