Vinod Khanna invites Shilpa Shetty to BJP

Chandigarh, Jan 30 (UNI) Cinestar-turned-politician Vinod Khana today said he would like actress Shilpa Shetty, who recently won the 'Celebrity Big Brother' TV reality show of Britain, to join the BJP.

''I hope she joins our party,'' the BJP MP said when his response was sought on Shetty's new found popularity abroad after her success in the Channel IV show which had kicked up a major controversy over some racist remarks against her by fellow contestants.

Asked if his offer to Shilpa to join the BJP was just a casual remark, Mr Khanna clarified that he was serious about the proposal.

He, however, did not elaborate as to whether he would convince the party to rope her in or directly approach her over the matter.

''Aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya (Let's see how thing turn out to be),'' was his cryptic reply.
