Vinod Khanna adds glamour to Punjab poll scene

Chandigarh, Jan 30 (UNI) Adding glamour to the election scenario in Punjab, cinestar-turned-politician Vinod Khanna today said he would canvass non-stop for the Akali-BJP alliance in the state till the campaign ends on February 11.

''I will be here till February 11 and campaign for the alliance. I will go wherever my party would ask me to or SAD president Parkash Singh Badal would request,'' the BJP MP said while talking to mediapersons here.

Mr Khanna, who haS already addressed some public meetings with Mr Badal in the state, claimed there was a lot of enthusiasm among the people for the Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD)-BJP alliance.

He said the non-performance of the Amarinder Singh government would be the main issue in the February 13 assembly polls.

Corruption and rising prices of essential commodities were the other significant issues in the run-up to the election.

Reacting to a comment that the BJP had poor presence in the state, he said the party in alliance with the SAD (Badal) would perform well in the polls.
