Tarigami for comprehensive plan for violence victims rehabilitation

Jammu, Jan 30 (UNI) CPI (M) leader and MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has called for launching a massive programme for rehabilitation of the victims of violence in the state.

''Given the difficult situation the state has passed through, a special rehabilitation programme need to be launched for the welfare of thousands of orphans, widows, old-age persons and destitutes,'' Mr Tarigami said.

Participating in the discussion on motion of grants of the Social Welfare Department in the Legislative Assembly, he said the rehabilitation of the victims of violence should be a priority of the government and a comprehensive rehabilitation programme needs to be implemented for the same.

''The government should without any further delay take measures for the rehabilitation of the victims of violence, Mr Tarigami said.

He also raised the issue of social and job security of the Anganwari Workers.
