SP accused of sexual harassment

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Jan 30 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh High Court has admitted for consideration a petition by a tribal woman, who has alleged sexual harassment at the hands of Balrampur Superintendent of Police S R P Kalluri and his subordinates and murder of her husband in a fake encounter.

Hearing the petition yesterday, Justice Dhirendra Kumar Mishra issued notices to the Centre, the state government, the Chhattisgarh Director General of Police and the Balrampur SP besides 15 other people and sought reply within three weeks.

Petitioner's counsel Sourabh Dangi told the court that a naxal, Naresh Nageshia, had gone to surrender before police but was killed in a fake encounter. The woman was kept in the house of a Special Police Officer and allegedly raped for eleven days.

The petition stated that she managed to escape the clutches of her tormentors on January 14.
