Seven killed, six injured in head-on collision

Ahmednagar, Jan 29 (UNI) Seven persons were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between two vechicles on the Ahmednagar-Manmad National Highway, 42 km from here today.

The incident happened at 2015 hrs when a Tata Sumo (MH-17 N 1897) collided with a Mahindra Max (MH-17 K 8153). The total number of passengers in both the vehicles stood at 22, police sources said.

Four out of the seven deceased have been identified as Subhash G Thakur of Dhule, Santosh B Phad of Ahmednagar, Shirish Gaimukhe of Rahuri town, Raju L Aadhav of Kopargaon.

Of the six injured, five are undergoing treatment here and one person is being treated at Rahuri, sources said.

The remaining passangers are yet to be traced, they added.
