Rs 103 cr e-governance system for Haryana
Chandigarh, Jan 30 (UNI) The centre has approved an ambitious Rs 103 crore proposal for e-governance system for Haryana to enable transparent, efficient and accountable governance.
The IT department of the Union government will provide Rs 63 crore for this purpose and the remaining about Rs 40 crore will be spent by the state government, a spokesman for the Haryana Information Technology Department said.
''Haryana not only hoped to achieve a leading position in the field of information technology, but is also going forward with the e-governance initiatives by establishing State Wide Area Network (SWAN), AADHAR like modern systems of e-governance with financial aids from the centre,'' he said.
The network prepared through these proposals would be utilised for inter department connectivity, multi-use and multi-service facilities, video conferencing, file transfer facility, e-mail, on-line application processing and query and response systems.
The spokesman said the work would be completed by December, 2007.
