Poor turn-up at Gandhi anniv programme

Bhopal, Jan 30 (UNI) Though the unique form of peaceful protest known as 'Gandhigiri' is much-debated these days, Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar was certainly not amused about just a few people showing up at a meeting to mark the Father of the Nation's death anniversary.

''I hope that Mahatma Gandhi will not be forgotten in the future,'' Dr Jakhar said in his mild rebuke at the Gandhi Bhavan here. The governor felt that humanity and coexistence seem to on the wane in this era.

The recent Bollywood film 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' popularised 'Gandhigiri'.
