Police keeping strict vigil on rowdy-sheeters

Visakhapatnam, Jan 30 (UNI) City Police Commisioner V S K Kaumudi today convened a special meeting to review the law and order situation in the city in the wake of municipal corporation elections on February 19.

The police were taking all precautions following a report submitted by the Intelligence Department on possible threat from anti-social elements.

Mr Kaumudi told the press here said special teams were being formed to tackle trouble-makers and as many as 172 rowdy-sheeters identified so far.

The police have also asked icenced weapon holders to surrender their firearms.
