ONGC Q3 PAT jumps 20 pc at Rs 4,668 cr

New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) today posted a 20 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 4,668 crore for the third quarter ended December 2006, as against Rs 3,888 crore during the corresponding period last year.

The company's turnover stood at Rs 15,631 crore in the said quarter, up 25 per cent as compared to Rs 12,548 crore during the same quarter, a year ago despite a subsidy pay-out of Rs 2,204 crore to the Oil Marketing companies including IOC, BPC and HPC, as per Government instructions.

During the period, the production of crude oil, natural gas and value-added products stood at 7.13 million metric tonnes (MMT), 6.36 billion cubic meters (BCM) and 874 kilo-tonnes (KT) respectively.
