Chandigarh, Jan 30 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notices for February 5 to Abhey Singh Chautala as and to the Deputy Commissioners of Kurukashetra and Sirsa on a revision petition seeking stay on the order of January 20, 2007 by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sirsa.
The order has allowed Chautala to use the banner of Haryana Olympic Association(HOA) for sending contingent of sportspersons from Haryana for participation in the National Games due to be held from February 9 at Guwahati, Asom.
The petition, which was filed jointly by industrialist and Congress MP from Kurukshetra Navin Jindal and IPS officer Param Vir Rathi, the president and secretary-general respectively of Haryana Olympic Association (HOA), has maintained that they were the elected office bearers of the HOA and that the faction led by Chautala was not a recognized one, hence they pray to stay the impugned order.
The notice issued by Justice Pritam Pal for February 5 is also to be treated as a notice to explain why the impugned order be not stayed forthwith.
