NCP leader, wife booked for distributing Rs 2.5 lakh
Pune, Jan 30 (UNI) Police have booked NCP candidate Vilas Nandgude and his wife for allegedly distributing an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh to the people, a senior police official has said.
They also recovered sharp weapons and swords from Mohan Nagar area in Pimpri-Chinchwad Minicipal Corporation (PCMC), DCP Chandrakant Daitankar said here today.
In another incident workers of the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party indulged in stone pelting, Daitankar said.
The police, earlier identified 142 'sensitive'polling centres in 24 wards in PCMC and 58 'sensitive' polling centres in PMC area.
About 5,000 police personnel and equal number of civic officials, a few companies of SRPF will be deployed as a precautionary security measure for the polls, he added.
