Minister comes to ailing actor's rescue

Mysore, Jan 30 (UNI) Kannada and Culture Minister H S Mahadeva Prasad today called on ailing Kannada actor K S Aswath at his residence here and assured to pay him a monthly honorarium.

The Minister, who was allocated the portfolio only yesterday, wished the veteran actor speedy recovery and promised to meet his medical expenses. Department officials would visit the actor's house every month and make arrangements for settling his medical bills, he added.

It may be recalled here that the renowned star, who had acted in about 300 Kannada films, had submitted an application to the Government, seeking honorarium following his illness.
