Metal prices decline on lack of fresh demand

Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) Metal prices today declined on lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, Copper heavy and Brass cutting crashed by Rs 1,000 each per quintal due to increase of stock supply. Copper and Brass utensil prices fell by Rs 500 and Rs 200 respectively due to improved offers by stockists.

In the non-ferrous section, Copper wire bar, Zinc slab and Lead Ingot too fell by Rs 300, Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively due to sluggish demand.

Nickel cathode also eased by Rs 10 per kg.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 30,200, Copper utensils - Rs 29,000, Brass utensils - Rs 23,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 33,900, Aluminium ingots -Rs 14,300, Zinc slab - Rs 20,000, Lead ingots - Rs 7,600, Tin slab - Rs 618 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,910 (per kg).
