Major tragedy averted, live grenade detected in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 30 (UNI) Security forces averted a major tragedy when they detected and later defused a live grenade in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district of south Kashmir today, police said.

They said a joint patrolling party of the CRPF's 155 battalion and police detected a live grenade near Padshahibagh in Bijbehara area this morning.

A bomb disposal squad later defused the grenade, police added.
