Kalpataru Power Transmission's turnover crosses Rs 10 bn

Bangalore, Jan 30 (UNI) Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd, a global EPC player in the Power Transmission and Distribution sectors, has crossed the landmark turnover of Rs ten billion for the nine months ended December 2006, with a net profit of over Rs 950 million.

The company had achieved a total revenue of Rs 3.94 billion during the third quarter of the current fiscal, an increase of 86 per cent from last year's corresponding period revenue of Rs 2.13 billion. The Profit before Tax jumped by 127 per cent to Rs 526 million as against Rs 232 million in the same quarter of previous year. Profit After Tax surged by 139 per cent to Rs 388 million as against Rs 162 million in the corresponding period of previous year, a company release here said today.

The company achieved the highest ever PBT of Rs 1.30 billion and PAT of Rs 950 million for the first nine months of the current fiscal, up by 156 per cent and 170 per cent respectively.

Due to conversion of warrants into equity shares, shareholding in JMC Projects (India) Ltd was expected to cross 50 per cent in February, the release said.

The company had secured a nine million Dollars worth order from the Nepal Electricity Board to set up 220 KV transmission line.

Besides, it had got an order worth four million Dollars from Kenya Power and Lighting Co Ltd and was expecting Rural Distribution and Transmission jobs from the African market, the release added.
