HC issues notice to Principal of JJ School of Architecture
Mumbai, Jan 29 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today issued a notice to Principal of JJ School of Architecture, Rajan Lakule, for allegedly obtaining a fake PhD from a foreign university to get the appointment.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice H L Gokhale and Justice V M Kanade were hearing a petition filed by the Council of Architecture (COA), seeking Lakule's removed from his post.
While the matter has been adjourned till March 5, the COA alleged that Lakule had obtained the certificate through the online Ashwood University by paying a hefty sum.
Earlier, the COA ha approached the Vice-Chancellor regarding the issue and were reassured that action would be taken. But when nothing was done for more than a year, they moved the court.
