Gorakhpur flare-up: Section 144 clamped on Kushinagar

Kushinagar, Jan 30 (UNI) After the attack on several people, including mediapersons, by an irate mob today protesting the arrest of BJP MP Yogi Aditya Nath, Section 144 of the CrPC (Prohibitory orders) was imposed in this district.

The incident took place in Sidhua Bazar of Padrauna town, where members of one community torched houses and shops belonging to another community.

Later, members of both the communities came face-to-face and resorted to stone-pelting, wounding several people, including mediapersons and an infant.

They were rushed to hospital.

Police had to use tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.

Over 25 people have been arrested and the situation, at present, is said to be under control.
