Four held on charges of flesh trade

Vijayawada, Jan 30 (UNI) Police arrested four persons, in the city for allegedly involving in flesh trade and rescued three women, including two minors, who were forced into the racket.

Addressing a press conference this evening, City Police Commissioner C V Anand said Malla Reddy, from Hyderabad, and two women were acting as brokers.

They came into contact with one Ramesh Babu of Chittinagar, a sweets vendor, who lured minor girls into fleshtrade by offering them jobs in the city. He took them to the brokers who paid him Rs 1500 as commission.

On a tip off, the Anti-Goonda Squad Police (AGS) arrested the brokers when they boarded an auto to leave for Hyderabad and rescued the girls.

Later, Babu was arrested based on their confession.

Mr Anand said 11 persons were arrested in similar cases and 13 women rescued, in last one and a half months.
