Eknath Khadse to replace Munde as BJP legislature party leader

Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) BJP MLA from Jalgaon Eknath Khadse will take over from Gopinath Munde as the group leader of the party in the Legislative Assembly following his appointment as the BJP General Secretary.

Khadse, who belongs to the Maratha community, was a Finance Minister in the earlier Shiv Sena- BJP alliance government in the state.

Munde said Mr Khadse will replace him as the group leader. BJP has a strength of 54 legislators in the house of 288, a party release said.

He said he was happy to take the new responsibility in the party adding that he got this opportunity at national level due to the death of his brother-in-law Pramod Mahajan.
